Featuring

Charmaine Lee - Voice + Electronics

Daron Key - Guitar + Electronics

NYC vocalist and electronic artist Charmaine Lee concludes her monumental 50 state tour on Nov. 14th here in Hawai'i. Known for a fierce improvisational approach and use of extended vocal techniques, Charmaine’s solo sets use feedback, vocal fragments, and real-time processing to create live performances that are unpredictable, intimate, and volatile. Each performance builds itself in the moment and is alive with risk.

Joining the show will be Hawai'i Island Kanaka guitar experimentalist Daron Key. Drawing inspiration from his living environment on the slopes of Mauna Loa, Daron creates visceral soundscapes and abstract textures using an array of pedals and unconventional guitar techniques. While his solo work may be new, his past collaborators include groups Control R Workshop, Mesmer, and the avant-noise-jazz outfit Vholtz.

The performance: Solo sets from both artists, then a collaborative improvisation. Live visuals by Kanaka filmmaker and artist Angelique Kalani Axelrode and Mark Dorf.

Live performance - Friday, November 14, 9PM Start
Advance tickets only. No door tickets. ALL AGES.
